My fishing partner (son) was busy this weekend, so I got industrious and worked on my boat. I built a rear casting platform, making use of previously wasted space on this boat.

By the way, the boat is a Beaver, made in Belhaven, NC. It is the predecessor to the Privateer line of boats.

Any other Beaver owners out there?

Spring is on the way!

Neat! I like the way you speckled it to match the boat. What's it made of?

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Lefty, I wish I could tell you I used some sort of exotic marine material, but I actually used leftover construction plywood and paint that's been out in my storage building forever. I sealed it with some AquaLock and several coats of paint.

I was really just sort of experimenting. If this works out well - and I already have two changes in mind - I am going to redo this with marine plywood and perhaps glass it.

Thanks again!

Good job on the paint -- I thought it might have been a surplus Corian countertop or something...
