I would like to learn tips, lures, techniques for catching Red Drum, and Trout inshore without a boat at Nags Head. I am going the 2nd week in September. Maybe even some good fishing spots or spots to find live bait with a cast net.
Fish around the Oregon Inlet bridge with some live finger mullet. They should be thick and easy to catch. I use a carolina rig and you can catch flounder, trout, bluefish, drum all with the same rig. I like a 1/4 or a 1/2 ounce egg weight and around an 18-24 inch leader. I wear chest waders and wade fish- its a blast. Shuffle your feet around as you walk as there are lots of rays out in those waters.
