Last week I was with 5 other kayak fishermen in Venice, Louisiana. It's called the redfish capital of the world for good reasons. We were out 6 days in kayaks and 28 to 36" fish were caught everyday. Last year we were there and caught a greater quantity, while this year we caught a larger class. A few trout, black drum, a flounder and several quality sheepshead were also caught. Mix in some blue crab and we are well fed. This year they really only wanted live shrimp (while last year artificial was just fine). Lots of gaiters, but a fantastic economical fishing experience.

Wow, That's awesome! I looked up Venice LA a month or 2 ago and was wondering how navigable it would be with a kayak. I think you've answered my question.

Do you mind giving me some more details like lodging, guides, traveling, other expenses etc?

I think this may motivate me to do this.

Thanks
