River Herring FMP Advisory Comm. 12/13/05

The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) River Herring FMP Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, December 13 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Fish Hatchery, located at 1104 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC.

The committee will receive an update on temporary management measures for the 2006 fishing season as part of the Draft River Herring Fishery Management Plan passed by the MFC at their November 2005 meeting.

The committee will receive presentations on river herring bycatch in Atlantic Ocean commercial fisheries. Information papers will be provided at the meeting. The committee will also discuss river herring restoration and stocking.
