I was wondering if anybody has had any catfishing success from the pier at Riverside Park in Castle Hayne, or on the pier across the street from it? I was thinking of netting some mullet to cut up and use out there for channels/blues. I'm going to kayak fish the area this summer, but thought about pier fishing it for now. Nice pier, area from what I gathered when I stopped by there the other day. But I haven't seen many reports on it or if it is a productive pier/bank spot.

I'm guessing this is not a popular spot. Or it is so popular nobody wants to share

Never fish there, but see a few folks there from time to time. Pretty certain that's what they're fishing for. A lot of folks go up to Shaw Highway and fish at the wildlife landing there for catfish. If you don't have any luck at Castle Hayne give it try .
