I have two new Diawa Emblem Pro 5500 surf reels with two spools each. Plan on using them for distance casting on the OBX with surf rods from Sea Striker. I also want to use them on my boat with the second spool and slightly heavier line for live bait. I am seeking suggestions on a quality 7' rods for these reels. You know the kind that does not cost more than $75 each. For the price is there anything that beats a $60 ugly stick? I want something decent.

I would suggest Chaos spinnin rod, but they're a nick out of yer price range ($99), those would be a great boat/bait rod for a spinner.

But since you do have a price limit, you might want to look at the Penn Slammers, 7 ft. medium medium/heavy should "get 'er dun" at a cost normally around $59 a pop. I have 4 of them with Okuma AV-80's on them and they're our mahi/king medium/light troll set up's.
