The other weekend I went to Morehead city for some saltwater action. had a blast. The first day we wrecked fished at 150'. I used live menhenden. Those baits don't last long around wrecks, before something grabs them. i caught about 6-7 amberjack biggest at 30. I hooked several fish I couldn't stop. I also broke off about 10 times. They were breaking 40lb line like nothing. The second day we trolled for dolphin and we got about 7 of them biggest at 27lbs.

Depending on the wreck, you could have been wrapped up in Sand Tigers. They'd have done what you described...

Menhaden are like the McDonalds french fries of the ocean. Anything will eat them. Thanks for the report.
