I keep my kayak holes on the hush. Nothing worse than showing up with the kayak after waiting all week for the tide to be just perfect and have a group of outsiders in what used to be your secluded hole. If they it fair and square good for them nothing I can do about that, but they aren't getting it from me. That said, I've been known to share a spot or two via private message as long as I can trust the person I'm sharing it with won't blow it up on the World Wide Web.

I should have specified sharing through PM only. I assumed people would figure I was referring to using PM only. Posting spots or inquiries in the open forum is just asking for company and I'm sure several boats would test the accessibility. That would be very bad.

I agree. Nobody should give away a spot given to them. I would think this etiquette goes without saying but it is absolutely worth mentioning. Giving away a spot that someone gave you will guarantee you won't be given another.

What Drum Runner said

If I know all you need to do is ask, If something is shared I will either go alone, or make sure that whoever is passing on the secret is good with whoever I am fishing with finding out as well.

challenger, Post a pic of the T/A sometime

Darrell
I sold it for 50,000 fun coupons about 8 years ago. I got tired of going to shows and wiping and shining it. Sitting around car shows is like watching paint dry for me. It was an awesome project and turned out about as perfect as it could have but I don't have any digital photos of it. I'll dig some up from the Web. I imagine some of the shows it won would still have archived photos.
Thanks
BTW I don't miss it although I'd like to drive it maybe once a week.

Yea I think the challenger was (actually is again IMO) a real beautiful and depending on the power train a real fast muscle car.
I actually have a 1968 dart gt convertible in pieces. I took it all apart and had the body blasted and primed and now it sits in my shop. I have no idea if/when I'll do this one. Right now there isn't money for it so when I knows. Convertibles are another one of my favorites.

For me, the best part about finding a productive hole is that I did it on my own. I've got a topwater drum spot that is productive nearly year-round, except in the coldest winter conditions. I share it with people that I enjoy their company during the paddle, and who equally enjoy bringing me to one of their spots. I do know I appreciate when I get there and nobody else is around...If someone else comes across it on their own, who am I to complain? However, I'd rather not make the paddle and see several skiffs blasting away at that area.

If you only get down there every now and then you might spend years finding a decent spot that isn't well known and crowded (which is why I said "decent" and not "good"). While it would be very satisfying to find my own honey hole, I appreciate it very much when I get a heads up from someone else and one of the ways I will show my appreciation is by not making the person regret telling me. I won't tell others and I won't trash it; I may even haul a few things out that someone else left. And if I am lucky enough to find an awesome spot on my own, I won't post it for the world but I will certainly remember the people who shared spots with me.

How could that possibly happen? (insert sarcasm tag here)
You make a good point though. I suppose it would have to be a "double secret" honey hole. Web cams, affidavits, sworn testimonies, secret hand shakes, polygraphs??
Or maybe a little trust?

Lakes, ponds, backwaters, and beaches can be big places. I'm not naive enough to think that I'm the only one that throws a bait at a particular stump, or fishes in a particular spot.

Quick story. Years ago at the state fair I struck up a conversation with a game warden. Got to talking about a farm my family owns and deer hunting. None of us live on this farm but I live about 3 miles away. So we talked a while and he asked me exactly where this farm was. I told him and he said you have got to be kidding. That is probably the most spotlighted piece of real estate in the state. We have caught a many a spotlighter out there. In fact we caught a guy with 3 in the bed of his truck on the pond dam a few weeks ago.

Obviously the honey hole of many.
Think of the havoc that could have caused on a deer spotlighting message board with spot burning.
