I have some Shimano Ci4+ reels and I love them. I have seen some ads for bearing upgrades. Has anyone done these on this reel? Notice any difference? Worth the price? Thanks

I don't personally see any advantages to it. The only ones I would consider would be the line roller bearing. That's the only thing I've ever had s problem with on any of the stradics. I usually replace 1 or 2 a year. That's not in each reel, that's a total for all of my reels. Best guess would be I get 2 years of use out of the $8 bearing. That's said, I don't follow Shimano's directions of frequent lubrication of that bearing. I rinse after every use and take apart/lube once sometimes twice a year.

Tony. I agree with what you said. They reel great right out of the box but I just thought I would ask.
