Launched out of Fulcher Landing ramp at 0530 hrs. Air temp was 74 F, water temp was 77 F. Water conditions were good with 2.3-2.6 wave heights and 9-10 second period.

Once we cleared the inlet we (two boats)we agreed to hit the 6 ft ledge and Hi step/Lo Step first to see if we could scare up some decent bottom fishing. Unfortunately technical issues overrode that decision so we ended up trolling those areas. Picked up one small barracuda on a squid chain and later added two large false albacore both hitting on deep divers. Tried Christmas rock for bottom again and boated a number of ring tailed porgy but nothing more. Finally gave in at 1400 hrs and called it a day. Fishing sucked but it was a great day to be out the inlet. Next adventure...10Sept out of Beaufort Inlet!
