Nat's Dad was kind enough to put me on some really nice bass today. We decided to take his 2 man Old Town instead of hauling two boats.

We caught a lot of really nice fish on everything from worms to buzzbaits to swimbaits. The bass were strong and healthy. Man they pulled hard. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more... catching the fish I caught or hearing those bass flush the toilet on Steve's swimbait every time.

Thanks for a great afternoon of fishing Steve. Next time I pull up to someone's house to go creek fishing and they pull out a bunch of old baitcasters that were made when I was 2 years old, I'll know they are dead serious!

It was a fun trip albeit a little nerve rattling at the take out. Next time hopefully the favorite local flow will be a little clearer and we'll really hammer 'em.

We would have caught more except Fred was wasting time chasing wild Brook trout in a side flow most of the time.

The problem with Mack is he always wants to take you some place that requires you dying at the end of the float so nobody else ever finds out where it is. No time for interest to accrue. How's a guy supposed to post 62 inches when his next cast may be his last?Thankfully we have a GOP governor in Raleigh and he's given me at least five or six death row pardons. You should see the look on Mack's face when those state troopers pull us over and escort me home via La Cosina in Mebane. Nothing better to end a day out fishing Mack on his own gar holes than a frozen Margarita and a Taco salad I say.
