Split. Fish keep taking the paddles off the others while carefully avoiding the hook.

Depends on target species. Paddle tails for reds, split for flounder and either or for trout depending what they want that day.

I have pretty much always fished paddle tails. Do you fish splits the same way?

When you say split tails are you referring to the jerk baits?

I like paddle tails when the fish are feeding on fish, and split tails when they're feeding on shrimp. Better stated, I'll throw a fluke unless the fish want a paddle tail.
