Spent this morning at the rockfish capital of the world. First time there as I've heard a lot of good things about it, and have never hooked one.

So, 3 hours, landed 3 fish, and lost 4 maybe 5 lures... But was able to tick striper off my list. LOL

Yep, casting from the bank at Weldon Boat Ramp. The river is too big and running too high and fast for wading.

There was a boat with two anglers hanging out just below the rocks in the last photo who hooked into at least 4 or 5,with one I saw for sure over 24".

Pretty place and nice catches! I wouldn't recommend wading there ever though. Can get in trouble fast. Also not sure if the barbless hook requirement has gone into affect. Just didn't know what lures you were using.

Yep, barbless and single hook until June I believe. Not everyone there follow it, as I saw trebles.

Fished there yesterday evening from 530 -730 caught mabe 6 or 7 with one being about 12 lbs....saw one 19 lber caught..Mine and his were males.

Went back out there this morning and they wore me out. Although, nothing like the monsters that @Mack in N.C. got last week. I'm going to blame the harvest weekend where all the biguns were taken. LOL
