hi there, I love to fish for about any type of fish, from sandies, crappie, catfish, to pan fish, but my love is fishing for the fighter fish the stripper. You really know you have a fight on your hands when a striper hits your bait and runs with it and the drag starts making the sound of taking line and all you can do is just hold on and wait for the stripper to give it up.

It usually only takes a few bucks to get a stripper to give it up, but a striper takes quite a bit more coaxing. :D

For the aspiring striper getter the time is near. It has been quite warm so far this spring and the shad being in Weldon now means the striper will soon follow. You now how nature works and the striper know when the river will be flooded with new shad fry. If you have not gone to Weldon yet try to plan a trip towards the end of April.
I plan on going to the Plymouth area this weeked. Might be able to catch all sorts of things and possibly a striper wandering in to make a trip upstream.
