Me and the roomy decided to take the john boat to Swan Quarter one last time before he gets married this coming weekend. Put in right around 7:15 and headed out. First fish in the boat was this very healthy 23" trout caught on a gulp shrimp about 2' under a popping cork at about 7:45ish. Then we fished for a long time without the anything hitting. We probably fished a total of about 3 miles of shoreline broken up in different areas. Then we found one tucked away cove where we could see fish breaking the surface, not just mullet. We were in about 3-4' of water and could see reds blowing up all around us. Threw basically the entire tacklebox at them, 17MRs in a few different colors, assorted gulps, gold spoons, Zman and DOA plastics. Finally picked one up on a Redfish Magic Spinner Bait (go figure) but he was too short for the cooler. Also picked up a small blue, small trout, and a 16" flounder in that same area. All in all a good day for us in the salt. We'll be back there for sure. Water Sky Goggles Vertebrate Sunglasses
