Had a great day fishing in the Bill Duncan Memorial. Had 1st place overall for awhile til some boys got back from a long run to swan quarter with a mammoth trout to knock us out. Good to see some nice quality fish being weighed at the tournament. Some of the best fishing I've seen all summer. Got a limit of puppy drum with the largest being 25.5 and released 7 more in the slot as well, seven trout between 18-21 " and threw back around 20 too small, and one 16" flounder. An added bonus was my buddy Brad hooking up with a 42" Old Drum on a popping cork and light tackle. After taking a few pics we released the fish and 5 min later I hooked up with another Old Drum. The battle lasted for 10 min and ended with him throwing the hook. All in all an epic day on the summer solstice. Got froggy and went back on Sun and the wind had shifted from SW to the NE and the fish were scattered and reluctant to bite. We managed a 20" drum and 2 keeper trout. One day their here and the next day they are gone!!!
