dogs can sleep in some odd positions
spiders can make some nice webs. to bad i walked thru it face first.
so this is what the town looks like with the streets rolled up...even biscuitville is closed.
halapino and steak fihitas with a red bull chaser is breakfast food at 4 am.
betting on the latino foot races caused by a baby possum..:D-and losing money-:(
seeing the sunrise over the lumber yard with 14 gals 5 guys and one undeceided.:eek:
being told that the darkness has a "slimming" effect on ones profile.by a pregnant woman...don't look at me it aint mine-thank god-
noting that you can't tell a red tums from a green one by taste alone-see above to see why-
catching up on your sleep by napping on a cold steel table is good for your back..

I've noted the dog sleeps in weird positions also. I'm with you zook. No fun all work. Well okay, maybe football is a wee bit more fun then what you've been doing.

I didn't have to get up at 3am to know that the dog snored (back when he was with us). And I don't need to get up at 3am to know that you'd need tums after a breakfast like that. I hope this is a "temporary" crunch time, there, zook -- 3am reveilles are meant for fishing days!!

Zook, if it gets to getting you down too much remember this ...the quickest way to get ahead is to work half a day every day. After working 7 12"s for 3 weeks you get too tired to spend any money. You'll save most of what Uncle Sam leaves you with. The easiest way to loose it all is to do it for too long. Somewhere you have to find a balance. Hopefully it won't last too long.

I have noticed a three things specifically about getting up at 3:00 am.

1-my head hurts because I haven't had any sleep as I probably just went to bed in the first place.

If I did go to bed earlier than say, 1:00am and happen to get up bt 3:00 am......

2-I need to tinkle or winkle.

3-My wife and dog snore louder than I do.

Zook, yer delerious.... (Slap) SNAP out of it!! wake up...!! :D

Aint but 3 things I get up that early in the mornin for:

1: Fishin
2: Huntin
3: dogs barkin cause somethin's sneakin around outside

Shift work a can be difficult.... I work'd midnight shift for almost 6 years at one point... I looked like a vampire and hated the sunlight! :) But made for some quiet times to be out fishin or huntin during the week Mon-Fri.... ;)

hang in there brother man!

Agree with you Dave! When I worked shift work I got a lot of good fishing in. Problem was because of fishing I never got any sleep.

I think that might be what Zook is suffering from!

I used to work at different nuclear plants around the country. During an outage you work nights or days. When I started you were required to work 84 hrs at least every other week and at least 60 hrs on the other weeks. Sometimes it was straight 84"s for several weeks running followed by a break of two days and then back to 1/2 a day (12 hr shifts) everyday for a few more weeks. after about 16-18 days people tend to get pretty testy and then they realize what's happening and settle back down. I worked wiring and plumbing houses for a guy one time that couldn't keep help. It didn't take me long to figure out why he had job openings: we worked between 90 and 100 hrs /week.

Know them parts pretty well. Probably have forgotten more than I can remember! I grew up around there long before you were there Zook. My family has been in that area since the Revolutionary War. I have chopped many rows of corn along every Uwharrie river bottom that there is. Our old home place is right over off of 49 not far from Denton.

man, all this Uwharrie talk.... takes me back to huntin... I love huntin out there (Dennis/Walker/Horsetrough mountain area.. I see alot of water trails, but no ponds or streams) (I walk back in there pretty far - up to 3 miles in to the east), when on the top south west ridge of Walker mount. I can see the lake in the distance but that's out past/west of the outfitter there on 27.

How close are ya to that area there Zook? might need to come visit with ya! ;)
