Hey guys thinking about hitting up lake Crabtree tonight anyone have any thoughts on it. Will be my first time there never been. Taking the yak out. Any recommendations on lures?
Thanks in advance
Its a mud-stained and shallow lake. Bright (firetiger) shallow crankbaits, chatterbaits, big spinnerbaits or big dark plastics would be my recommendation. Zoom horny toad would get some action too - no fish is ever too deep to come up and hit one there.
Its got some good fish, just not much in the way of shoreline cover or underwater features as obvious targets. Also, that waterway has been contaminated by PCBs, so the fish are not safe for consumption. Great place for carp specialists.
