I have a bull head that lives in my 55 gallon fish tank -his name is sturgio -he is picky about what he eats-then one day I found some thing that he liked-he liked it so much he wound swim to the top following the sent where I droped it in looking for more- well brace your self it is Popeyes spicy fried chicken- he loves it -wont eat much else- and yes I tried other kinds of chicken -he wont eat them -even worms -he would rather have popeyes- and when he sleeps he lays on the bottom on his side up on his fin -I thought he was dead and poked him twice-he took off like a pin ball machine-let sleeping catfish alone - the catkiller ;)

Catfish aren't the only fish that like fried chicken. I've seen bass catfish and bluegill all come and peck away at chicken bones. It seems to draw them in pretty quick too. Not what I'd call a frenzy but they wouldn't just come up and sniff it either. They were all definitely eating it.

Was watching the Carolina Outdoor Channel on public TV today, not sure when it was filmed, but the guys were at a pond in Louisburg, fishing with Persimmons for catfish!

Apparently there was a tree on the bank, and when ripe persimmons would fall, cats would rush up and eat it. They didn't try it on other ponds, though.

When does the show typically come on? I've heard about it but have not been able to catch it.

I really don't know Coach, my family watches that channel for hte cartoons, and it happened to be on, Saturday, I think, and I caught that episode. (I don't ever sit down to watch TV, catching a show is always a mistake for me!)

Ok, this compelled me to share my fish bait story. My 4.5 yr old daughter and I went to Bond Lake in Cary awhile back. They were out of bait. She suggested we buy hot dogs at the gstore. I bought the cheapest ones made...... Well, we were the only ones catching fish that day, and we were catching 14-24 inch cats. She had a blast. I felt so bad for the guys next to us, I gave them a couple dogs...LOL I tried hotdogs again at Jordan near the mouth of the haw, a couple weeks later. Same result. This may be common knowledge.....just not to me. I know have the ultimate back up bait....if you get really bored you can eat it.
