This was the key to our success early in the year for old drum. While many were getting skunked and reporting no fish we were coming away with a fish or 4 every trip. Often times we would catch them within a few feet of the kayak after seeing them.
I saw a video by some fish expert. He suggested that Trout will spook and not return but drum will spook and return in a half hour or so.
Opinions on this?
How close can you fish drum in a yak? How quiet does one have to be? Seems like a lot of times I find them with very large flat head mullet and these things spook for the fun of it. I'd think their spookish behavior would cause the drum to take off but maybe the drum know what the deal is?
