Mmm.. that I dont know but I can ask a friend for you about them and see what he's got to say.
I owned one up north, great motor, queit and started right up every time, alot of Quahogers(Clammer) would use them, a poor man's Yahama...I think they are owned by Nissan or vice versa, I would say go with a 4 stoke, unless you are looking at a used one, my only complaint is the cowling covers faded in years of sun, and on Cape Cod it would get warm but nothing like we went through this past summer in NC...Just me 2 cents

here is what I consider when looking at most anything mechanical..

Are they readily available.
Quality vs cost- Am I getting something worth the money or will it cost me later??
Can I easily get parts
What seems to be used by others using a similar product.
Are there alot of them available used that aren't very old? (means people are getting rid of them)
Are there alot of used ones available that ARE very old (means they hold up well)

Tohatsu motors are sold my many dealers and they are made by Nissan so parts should be readily available. I was told its the same inside as the Nissan, only less cost.

Tohatsu motors are made for Nissan for some reason Nissans are a bit more money. They run fine the 2 strokes idle rough but are basically alright. The tohatsu and nissans parts are interchangable the covers are the only differance. If you have a question [email protected]
