Hey guys. Great web site. Was wondering if anyone could recommend a good charter for offshore fishing on the week of the June 18th. My wife and I are coming up from West Palm Beach FL and have fished the Vonda Kay and wondered if there was a better bet. We do the usual surf fishing and fishing from the sound. If anyone one has any tips or info that would help, that would be great. We'll probably hit the piers a few times but would like to get out and get offshore if possible. Its a lot different than down here , where we go 3 miles out in you're in 300 feet.

What kind of fishing or species are you after? Did you want a private charter or a large "Headboat"? And what area of the coast will you be staying in? Right now Kingfish are doing pretty well.

Vonda Kay is the only head boat I'm aware of out of Topsail Beach. However if you are interested in a smaller, personal type charter - let me know and I'll send you some names and contact info - we have a number of good ones down here. Also let us know if you are looking for inshore/nearshore or something offshore.

We usually fish for flounder on the sound side and pompano/mackerel on the surf side. We would like to get offshore if it doesnt break the bank. Is there any artificials or anything I should pick up while down here in FL? Thanks for the help guys.

You can pick up anything you need here locally. On charters you bring food and personal items they supply the rest(tackle). On piers, nearshore, inshore you can visit the locals for tackle needs. Decide what you want to do and then get back with the Topsail Angler. He'll steer you in the right direction. Really I just wanted to say hi. I was born at the Good Samaritan in west palm bch many moons ago.

That sounds good. The Good Samaritan is 1/2 mile from the boat ramp. It's a small world.
