Any one Interested in fishing around the topsail area either saturday or sunday that knows where the fish are? Been getting skunked the past few weekends In Freemans creek. Any recommendations on any other hot spots in the area, or a recent report of the Shell Rock/Queens Creek area.

Many will not be willing to give up exact fish locations/hot spots. But as far as tips, I've been catching drum on the outgoing tide along current/oyster breaks in Topsail. Mostly a morning drum bite for me lately, some short flounder too. Been throwing topwater (spook jr.) in the morning, and 1/8th oz jig head with paddle tails in afternoons with some success.

I saw that on the interwebs, i think a few giggers saw some hardhead mullet. haha.
But YES It is true that there were massive schools of redfish behind the island, it happens every year up and down the coast. Just takes a while for the internet hype to kick in. But now the bigger schools of march/april winter redfish have begun to splinter off into smaller packs and have begun their annual push inshore. I caught 5 in one hour last week, well inshore of your area. Fish were 20-25" and hit topwaters, gold spoons, and white plastics.

have a simular one gotten fm get outdoors. dont ust it much because I usually park/unload close to the water. the few times used was for a native mariner propel and it worked fine. wish I had checked the threads here first. there have been several threads on home built pvc units that wont cost nearly as much. (PS) if you build dont start with small PVC at least 3" min and wheels should be wide if you plan to go in the sand and can be found at most thrift stores.
