5 am departure, towed my boat to the bay, high wind blowing out of the SW.
Making topwater fishing difficult, but not impossible.
Went looking for Tarpon, found an uncooperative Trout, that blow up twice without hooking up.
Tried subsurface, no luck. ( insert link to LINC tutorial video here........)
Ran to some calm water to get out of the wind.
Throwing topwater just got easier, 2 more blow ups from 2 different Reds.
Still no hook ups. Harold switched out to a spoon & hooks up.
That traitor, I'm personally taking away all his topwater lure.
Now it's No Tarpon, No Trout & No Reds for me.
Tried a few different creeks to get away from the blowing wind.
Still no topwater love.
Stop for lunch near a Trout spot, zero fish.
Make it to a flat, wind at our back, making for long out of the area code cast.
The kind where you can unload half a spool of 10# braid, down to the backing on a 2000 series reel.
Stop working my topwater to see what Harold doing.

I'm in!....... 24" Red with a mouthful of weeds.
Then my trolling motor quits working, wind picks up to almost gale force.
We have to crawl off the flat before it goes dry.
Get back to the ramp & some teenage is fishing across both ramps, in mud, for I don't know what.
With a two hook bottom rig. ( must have read that on some fishing site )
View attachment 64176 Traitor with his spoon feed Red.
View attachment 64184 Topwater Devotee with his prize. Both Reds CPR.
Saved my day & reputation for sticking with a topwater. ....... ICM
