Took my son (5 years old) out on the Trent in the canoe this morning. He is not much of a morning person and kind of a bear to deal with if you push him too much in the morning so we did not get out on the water as early as I would like. We put in at the wildlife ramp in Pollocksville about 9 AM and fished around the banks near the HWY 17 bridge for about 20 minutes. Boated three small LMB using a 5 inch Gary Yamamoto Senko worm, watermelon and black in color, nothing worth taking a picture of, which was good because I didn't have a camera. The water was warming up quickly so I did not do a whole lot of fishing after that just paddled around a bit and explored the river and Mill Creek a bit. Definitely will be going back for some evening trips once the weather cools down a bit.
