Went out to Umstead's Big Lake for a little while this morning to see if I couldn't get something to bit. I was planning on going for bass, but as soon as I got there I saw the banks LINED with crappie. Most of them were little guys, but still fun on an ultralight. I went through my tackle box and found a small rubber minnow and had a blast pulling out crappie for an hour or so. Saw some nice bass drifting around just behind the crappie, but I couldn't get them to bite. All in all, nothing big, but fun nonetheless.

Had the same type of success yesterday at a pond of mine. Crappie were everywhere on this rock wall and all over the dock. I caught 8, brother got 4, friend got 15. Great time to be fishing!! Nice job

Those cruiser bass are tough once they make eye contact. Nice job getting bit, though!
