Fished the Upper Neuse on the banks, a few hundred yards down from the dam. I don't know if it is the time of year or what, but I was catching crappie left, right, and center. Nothing big mind you, all along the lines of the attached photo.

People around me were filling 5-gallon buckets with these little guys. If you could find a pool of still water amongst the rapids, it looked to be guaranteed crappie domain.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, caught these on a 1/8 oz Rooster Tail
