My 13' ellie horizon has a large storage compartment up front. I had a transducer and SLA battery in it for a while that was powering a Ff but I found that I didn't use it so I took it out. The hatch can't be accessed while I am in the kayak unless I run it aground or somehow shuffle up to it. I'm wondering if I could turn it into a cooler? As it is now anything I catch goes on a stringer and I've had fish die plus it is a drag while paddling.
Thanks

I would think about one of the strap on top soft coolers made for yaks rather than trying to make it a cooler if it accesses most of the interior of the hull up there. The capacity probably counts on it being filled mostly with air or dry light things like clothes.

EDIT - I see my post became a "me too" while I was reading and then typing. I agree with DR. Try to keep it sealed while on the water.
