Anyone doing any good on Radio Island the past couple weeks? Heard of a few guys catching trout, but wasn't sure about flounder and drum. Thanks!

A couple weeks ago there was a school of something big and explosive pinning bait on the sandbar back up near the highway.

Wish I could help but most of my surf fishing is done at North Topsail and I haven't seen a beach in months. I'm sure someone will come along with some intel.

some absolutely monstrous lizardfish around

theres a handful of flounder but tough to get through the lizards. trout are very hit or miss on the rocks

any day you can fish is a good day to fish. Catching? well, cant help you there..

I have only been to Radio Island once, and I have a question. The place I went to was a parking lot with bathrooms, and it had a wooden walkway to a beach area. Is this where everyone fishes from the sand or do you go farther towards the end of the island? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes that is the place. No access anywhere else.

We used to fish past the fences, don't know if that's still possible though.
