Fished Weldon last Saturday through Tuesday. We caught 670 fish with 3 fisherman in the boat. Saturday was kind of slow as they had just dropped the flow but the next 3 days were great. We caught them on herring and shiners. They liked the shiners as good as they liked the herring, cut herring worked well also. Had 1 fish around 10 lbs., 8-10 were 6-7 lbs. and the rest were 3 to 4 lbs. The shock boat shocked one up right beside us that weighed 58 pounds! If you are thinking about going you need to get there soon, we seen a few fish spawning and the water temps were only 62 to 64 degrees.

Read the rules fellows. Bought the herring, all less than 6" long that were caught at Kerr lake. All fish were caught on barbless circle hooks. Water 20 foot deep and flowing pretty good.........I bet all the fish that died could be counted on one hand. All of the people trolling bucktails in the summer months and pulling them 50 fish a day out of 60' of hot water will kill more fish in 1 trip than we will all year !

I was trying to make light of a touchy situation by my previous comments. I'm sorry for all offences. This topic was discussed in an older thread and you did nothing wrong. Congrats on your huge weekend and thanks for fishing legally. God's creation is spectacular when you consider the spring striper runs.
