I was wondering what the best species to target is right now and what to use for bait and take? I will be fishing from shore on new river at camp lejeune...thanks!

Ahhh crap ill take the bait!

Skeeters are probably biting down that way right now. Rumor is they prefer fresh blood, but I think thats just myth.

Hot hot weather and tons of bait are making the fish lazy and unwilling right now it seems. I would get some cut or live mullet and put in on a Carolina rig or under a cork and find a creek mouth to fish if possible.

Lots of redfish being caught right now as well as some trout and flounder. Topwater lures like a top dog jr are hard to beat and a variety of soft plastics is good to have. When all else fails soak a finger mullet on a Carolina rig.
