The two convenience stores at the corner of 64 and Farrington (SR 1008) stock worms and minnows, at least in season. From what I hear, they try to keep minnows around even this time of year, perhaps not quite as many. (Or perhaps all the crappie-hunters buy 'em out...)

The previous posts are correct.
Both stores at Wilsonville will have you covered year around for both bass and crappie minnows. These stores are set across from one another on the 64 highway just before you cross the first bridge going west out of Cary/Apex. I suggest carrying two buckets - get at least one dozen bass minnows to go after big slabs right now! Put them in whatever large/clean/well-aerated container you have as they may expire quickly. Get alot of the crappie minnows if you are going between 10am and 2pm, before weather fronts, during barometric pressure movements, or camping at night and for sure get some night bobbies and sling them from shore - don't worry about where this time of year - just sling-em, watch-em, and reel-em in!
Good luck.
