Who says Myrtle doesn't have fish!

I'm in north myrtle from yesterday till tomorrow and figured I might as well try fishing, even though everyone said its awful here. Not so at all! Last night caught some small shark (illegal I know :p ) and a rat red in the surf and this morning I got up early and fished an inlet near the condo and caught three flounder! 2 of which were keepers. My girlfriends brother-in-law caught three and lost a huge one too. Also had a few reds get off but I'm going after them tonight! More pics to come hopefully. Tight lines y'all!

I'm going to be down there in a couple of weeks and I just assumed that place sucked for fishing. What were you using for the red and the flounder? Let me know if you get anything else down there!
The grandstrand beach itself sucks for fishing. Piers arent so great either in Myrtle... The inlets however can be great.

Flounder were all on gulp swimming mullet and 1/4 ounce jigheads. Plenty of shrimp and baits in the inlet too. Rat red was on cut shrimp. Sharks were on shrimp also. red and sharks were in the ocean. Saw tons of blues and reds in the inlet too. If you are in north myrtle the inlet is at the end of shore drive. I dont think there is any public parking though but feel free to google maps it. Didn't get to fish much today so far but I'm about to hit the surf/mouth of the inlet for drum so wish me luck!

Good luck! catch em' up!
Ran out of gulp this morning but there are unbelievable numbers of finger mullet in the surf. Filled a gallon freezer bag for my next trip and used some in the surf. No luck on reds or flounder but caught over a dozen sea mullet and spots. Surprisingly few pinfish though they are what stole all my gulp tails in the inlet this am
