I'm at Kure for the weekend and have tried a little bit of surf fishing and bank fishing federal point. Not too much happening. Going to try some more tonight and tomorrow but I was wondering if there was any bank fishing access where I could go after some Stripers in wilmington on the Cape Fear on the way home? I had considered trying Lock Dam 1 for shad but the reports I have heard sounded less then hopeful. Thanks y'all!

you could try around the boat ramp right there at castle st. downtown under the bridge, or maybe fish off a few docks just north of there or along the "walkway" other than that not much access really from bank

Googled that boat ramp to see where it was and found this image on Google Maps. Looks like the boat is under water.

I'm not too familiar with fishing that area but if I were there I might would try around the Masonboro Inlet to see if something was hanging around the jetty.
