Saturday was the day that separates hard core fishermen from all others. We had no problem finding a parking spot at the ramp. As soon as we hit the water the rain came and a rain suit never felt better. Bite was slow for us but another boat had 3 on topwater during the rain. Rain stopped and the sun came out for a few minutes and the Halo shad went to work and picked up the 2 biggest fish of the day. Soon clouded back up and the wind went from 10 up to 15 or better and the bite fell back off. Then the MR17 in the 750 went to work to finish out a 2 man limit of trout.
We did see 2 other NCAnglers out and they seemed to be picking up a few all along as well. Good seeing you guys even though we didn't get to talk much due to fishing so hard. The water was about 58 degrees at daybreak and about 62 when we left. Trout keep heading towards the creeks over our way.

Likewise Chris. We are not territorial over this way so come on back anytime. Glad you guys had a good day, nasty but fun. If we can help just ask.

Nice meeting you in person. We managed some fish on top water and most were on the big end! Had fun on some new water. Our biggest of the day was 4.6 lbs.

c.lane it was a a tough day out there but those are the days that make us better anglers. Learning to catch fish when they ain't feeding makes it a breeze on the days when they are. Had ball buddy and looking forward to going again this week. Good to see you guys out there on the water AHODGES21 and glad y'all caught some specks. We'll get together on the Neuse soon.
