Had the pleasure to fish with my best friend Cory who recently moved back down state. He came up to the mountains to help me inspect my new house. We had the chance to make two short floats and go after some bass. The first float we got on them good and caught about 30 fish including some really nice smallies and LM. The big fish was a 5 1/2 largemouth that crushed a topwater bait near the boat, it measured 23 inches. Fished the next day for Musky for a little bit without any luck then switched over to smallies and picked up a couple. The fish fell for soft plastic jerk baits, jigs, topwater, and some on the crankbait. Seen a lot of bait jumping and moving about in the local rivers.

Hard to believe that fish didn't weigh more at that length. Nice catch.
She was spawned out and wore out from this spring or she would have gone over 6lb. i bet... I think that bass was older, might be her last season, due to the coloration and condition overall.. It did put up a great fight...
