Looking for a wood lathe that can handle at least 30 inch pieces. Dont care about bowl turning. Will just be doing flutes.

I would suggest you join and post over at http://www.ncwoodworker.net

I turn smaller ones. Make sure you account for your jigs in total bed length. I use forced air and gun drills to make fifes, whistles and small flutes under 18". My lathe bed is about 42" between centers, but when the drill is backed all the way out of the blank before I bore it, that basically cuts my capacity in half.

Thanks, I will give that a look. I work in Native American style flutes with an average length of about 26 inches.
