Wow I am in a bad skunk right now

Last three times out been royally skunked not even a nibble. The first outing was at Lynn for only 1:30 and not a thing.

Friday I was able to hit a golf course pond with no idea if anything is even in it and ran into a guy who said he caught a lot of bream in it but never a bass. So I started throwing a rooster tail on very light rod and couldn't get a bite. Finally gave up after an hour and headed to Lynn for 3 hitting my best spot first. About 10 minutes in these teenagers show up and start fishing right next to me. They didn't ask if it was ok just started working the area I was in. Now yes two people can work this point but its tight. They finally left after I moved into another opening in the same area. Tried spinners, cranks lipped and lipless, two colors of worms and even a craw.

Today got out for an hour before the rain started and tried a spot I first met NCStateFisher at and couldn't get a nibble as well.

Hoping to get out tomorrow for about 3 hours and hopefully get this stench out :)

I've had most of my luck with a plastic worm on the bottom dragging it along slowly. Stop and go, slow. This is what I've done in colder water/weather for largemouth and had luck.

Sent from my kayak...
this cold rain is gonna speed us up towards the winter patterns just be patient a little longer bud
I'm catching a few, but they're all dinks. It's been at least a month since a caught a bass over a pound, and even the panfish have been small.

Tough time of year to fish, I guess.
I would take a dink or even just a nibble right now. Went out in wind yesterday no
Luck only stayed 90 mins however. Hope to get out tomorrow afternoon

Local pond has been slow here too, going on 4 weeks. Last fish was on a jerkbait two weekends before thanksgiving. Can't get touched on senkos, flukes, drop-shots, jigs, chatters, crankbaits, jerkbaits.

I look to the Bank Fishing forum and especially the Spidey-reports for inspiration and ideas - this skunk isn't helping. I might actually have to load up and go fish from a kayak soon

Spidey - My apartment complex has a pond with bass in the 1-3 lb range. I think I've caught every fish in that pond at least 3-4 times on a green senko, year round. It's as close to a "sure thing" as I've encountered in the fishing world... I go to other waters mainly because this is too easy. Just to get the skunk off, if you want to drive over to Winston, PM me for the exact location.

Thanx I think I know of a few dink ponds I might be able to scare up a fish at. My last bass was a 4.5 er right after thanksgiving. Just weird to not get a nibble at my favorite lake and spot. I even mixed it up trying different spots on the lake with no luck. Oh well I will find one eventually :)
Glad you are back in action, Spidey. Keep at it, one thing I know is that you will keep after them till you find them!
I am living proof in old saying about a blind squirrel finding an acorn now and then. Keep at it, and you will find one too. Good luck.
The smaller local waters just seem to be kinda slow right now. If you want to be sure to catch something you should try that pond I told you about. You should at least be able to get some good numbers. I can send you the address again if you don't have it. I'm thinking about trying somewhere Sunday afternoon if you want to join. I think that may be a decent time since it's supposed to be a few degrees warmer and the sun should help warm up the water a bit.
