Hit the Yadkin around Clemmons today in my kayak for a few hours to kick off the start of my summer vacation after a rough couple weeks of finals.

I only managed one spotted bass, but it was good to finally break out of my 0-fer and prove to myself that there were in fact fish along this stretch.

I'll be hitting the river hard all summer provided that conditions are decent. If anyone wants to fish, drop me a line. I'll have a lot of free time this summer and want to get a few floats arranged.

The spot came on a green pumpkin speed craw near a bridge piling. I dug up a ton of worms out of the compost and tried chucking them out on c-rig, but to no avail.

Good luck out there!

You would catch more fish if you didn't use that dink bait. I never catch big fish on speed craws.
Gene has become elite enough that fish approaching six pounds are no longer considered big fish.... apparently just because you could fit your fist in their mouth doesn't mean they aren't dinks. :D

All I catch on speedcraws are dinks.
Four pound dinks, five pound dinks, even some six and seven pound dinks..
