I had a couple of BPS reels that were so bad to open up and fall off that I would put a drop of super-glue on the covers everytime I took them apart.

assuming I can get a replacement cover, I will heed that suggestion Darrell. I think the release in that reel is in such a place that it contacts the rod holder. Or it is just me being me, losing something ​every time out.

It was a close out kit from SeaDeck. They make kits for many Jackson boats, probably others. Easy to install and I think it helps keep things a little quieter. At least until I go to cussing because my reel fell apart

 

You will have to order the part out of the home office store in the Midwest. Go buy yourself a Citica!

Seadeck is also available for NuCanoes as well. Apparently helps with drainage to the scuppers as well as looking good.

 

Could maybe do same thing with heavy shelf liner, like what is used in toolboxes. But you would have to cut it and glue it. May save some money though.

 

Use Hydro Turf. It is what is used on jet ski's. It is thinner but lasts just as long. And you can order it in different size sheets.

 

Website looks like it's actually 1mm thicker and less expensive for the bulk sheets. Good tip!

 

Nothing wrong with more of a DIY solution but I will say the pre-cut kit sure makes things easy. The pieces are all a perfect fit and the scupper hole openings are trimmed out with sort of a "flange" that does help with drainage I think. Either way you go, the boat is definitely quieter. People say more comfortable when standing, but I don't stand.

 

Oh yeah If I were putting it on a SOT die-cut would be a must, too many curves. I wanna do my sit-in though for sound dampening... No choice but roll my own

 

UPDATE on The Bad.

Lew's customer support comes through big-time and is sending me a replacement side plate assembly. I already have the superglue which I hope prevents a repeat performance. Reckon I know who I'm buying my next gear from. Fish On.
