Saw on the ncwildlife website that it had a launch ramp posted there, never heard of anyone fishing that area. Its actually in the Croatan national forrest and the biggest of the two lakes next to it. Just curious if people have fished there if there are any restrictions as far as running your outboard motor there and what type of bass fishing that place has to offer....any help would be greatly appreciated...ty

never fished it but have always wanted to fish great lake or catfish lake and also lake drummond in va ........from what i have read and heard bass are not too plentiflul in these lakes as they are too acidic......gar, certain types of sunfish,spotted i think, pickerel and yellow perch and bullheads are the most common......only lake i have fished that is somewhat similar is white lake and i used to catch some really nice yellow perch in there....have fished wacamaw but wacamaw is not as acidic and thus has alot of bass........let me know if you want a partner i would like to fish it one day...............mack
It is a good paddle if that is what you want to do. As to the bass fishing it isn't the greatest. It is only 2'-4' and extremely tannic. What fish there are are on the far side of the lake.
Most fish caught in all of them will be 1-2 lbs tops. Know alot of people who have tried on many ocassions. You will catch alot but not of any size.
