Hwy 50 Ramp, Falls Lake, hours?

I would have sworn the Hwy 50 ramp on Falls Lake was open from 8am to 8pm. Last time I was there, 4 days ago, that's what the sign said. Today, someone tried to convince me that it's open at 5am. I've driven by there a lot, just not in the last two weeks, at 7:30am and the gates are locked. The website says 8-8 as well. Has anyone ever seen it open earlier? Pretty sure it's NOT open at 5am. But that would sure be convenient if it was.

I'd drive the extra distance and pay the $6 to avoid the towboat idiots at Upper Barton.

From my experience it is open during daylight hours. So in the winter it closes much earlier than the summer. Not really sure how early it opens as I am not much of a morning person. Why get out super early for the bite to die down, when you can get out in the afternoon and it just gets better until it is time to leave haha

8AM to 8PM is what all the state parks are, they may close at 6 in the winter months. Ledge Rock is only about 10 minutes further up the road and it is free, open 24 hours. Go up Hwy 50 take a left on Old Weaver, go a few miles and left on Boyce, turn left at the stop sign, ramp is right before the dead end on the right.
