Danny G, is there any place for RVs near Shellrock? I tried onece to try to find one near the water at Shellrock, but it seemed that there was only yearly RV parking there, on the water.
The only temporary RV parking is on Shell Rock Landing Rd and Abbitts Branch Lane in Button's Campground. Right now it is full. Might possibly find parking in Bear Creek Campground. This campground is on the right as you cross Bear Creek coming from Hwy. 172.

Thks speckhunter. I am close enough to Shell Rock from home, not to need to take my RV, but if there was to be an open spot, I may would take it, and spend 3 nights.

speckhunter, I found a phone number for Buttons, but could not find anything at all on Bear Creek campground.

yakkers can launch for free from the hammocks beach state park building on the mainland. This launch will put you right in the mouth of queens creek, a short and easy 5 min paddle and your fishing!

Personally, i think shell rock is a tight ramp, but it is likely the best to meet up around. The others fill up quickly. I'll probably launch from the widlife ramp at dudleys unless Island Harbor is still open. Anyway, just thought i would mention those few things.

with school out and july 4th the next week spots will disappear fast both hotels and camping so move quickly.

good thinking! Anyone wanta split a hotel room for at least saturday night? I have AAA as well and will probably stay at the Parkerton on 58 PM me if interested

My daughter is due on July 4. Hope my future grandson decides to wait that long before arriving in this world. It's her first baby so he probably won't show until at least then.

We've got to pass on this one. Family conflict.

Catch some big ones for us.

Hey ya'll, wish I was on the creek joining you, however, (pause for effect) that day we will be packing up all our carp and geting the heck out of afhanistan!!! should be home around the middle of july, and on the water shortly after! Can't wait. temps here are topping the 100's, sandstorms movin in everyday, flight visibility is terrible, but everything around the river valley is fairly clear. ( Unfortunantly, thats where the bad guys are) Hope to see you at the next meet and greet!

John, I thought you had already been a grandfather for a long time. Congrats on your soon to be grandson.

cfarmd, thank you for all the planning you've done. The yak/canoe lauch at Hammocks Beach Ste park on the mainland is very nice. I've seen it, but never launched from it. Not sure what time it opens, but I am thinking it is 8 AM.

drag, I am hoping I'll see yopu again on the Queen, after mid july. Haven't fished there in a while.

Im, thks for the info on Cedar Point. Still not sure if I will take my RV, but since there is no reservations at CP, I may just slide in there before frday. If not, I will drive from home. Someone will need to feed those skeeters. They love me.

As I understood previous, Island Harbor is suppose to be open through August 2010 at which time they were to close the ramp to do some upgrading, etc... I went by there a couple of weeks ago and there doesn't seem to be a lot of anything going on, so I doubt they are ahead of any established schedule they made. I put in there back in January with the new ownership in place and it was like nothing had changed, still looks that way.

I may stay at Waterway Inn just to save the drive and make a weekend of it. They have boat slips too and looks on the map like an easy fairly safe run to Queens.
