Like John said..............Thanks Randy and all for providing us this platform for all our ranting and bragging ;)

I do believe we could have 27 days of beautiful weather with virtually no wind and fantastic fishing reports in the exact area we are going and THEN the day before our meet we get gale force winds and a cold snap that shuts it all down. Next time we aint telling the weatherman when were going :D

I think that every meet we have gets better and better. Just look at that group photo. I dont know of anywhere else that has such a fine and committed group that holds together for the purpose of building friendships and sharing fishing knowledge. And we keep getting bigger. I do believe we will eventually be the largest fishing group in NC.

Id like to Thank JimBeam11, Scott Hobbs and everyone who helped plan this for all their efforts, well done :) Everything went off without a hitch, now if you could only control the weather :D

My only regret is that we didnt get more time to get to know everyone. I know there were a lot of people there I wanted to take time and talk to but there just wasnt time. Im hoping the next one we have we can make up some ground there. It would probably be a 2 day event like we did last year at um, where is that place in the middle of nowhere (Where DEF is from) lol. Great time, good people, even good fishing. Cant wait for this one, ideas on location anyone?

Any way I hope everyone had a great time despite the wind and hope that you gained a feel for the great group that you have joined.

Ciyall next time

ISLAND MAN

PS: Danny Thank Your woman for the Fantastic flag she made us, its Great ;)

If everyone would Please, e mail me all good pictures that show members. These would be used in the newsletter and the group archive.

Thank You

while the fishing was a little slow to say the least, I thoroughly enjoyed the event! I couldn't have asked for a better crew to fish with: GeorgeP, Pesky, and Fishn4fun. We tried several thing's w/o much luck, but I DID put george on that prize winning fish :) It was great meeting some new folks, and seeing some of the old timers. I'm already looking forward to the next event.

LOCATION: I was thinking of having an event at Goose Creek State Park b/t Bath and Washington NC. Excellent area for camping, boat ramp w/in 10 miles with a dock available. It's a beautiful area that is both boat and yakker friendly. Trout fishing will be heating up soon, so I was thinking sometime in early May. Shoot me some PMs if your interested, and I may start an official thread if I get some positive feedback. It really is a nice area and is perfect for a M&G. Anyway, let me know fellas i'm already looking forward to it!

:D Definately a pleasure fishing with you again Chris, and also with Pesky and fishn4fun also. I thing we enjoyed sharing stories and fishing tactics about all day long while we were waiting for the fish to bit. Thanks again for bringing the Sea Pro and being a great captain as always. The Goose Creek Area for a M/G would be great, so if you want to get things going on that for some time in May ( Lets Get R Going );)

Here's a spread that sort of describes the chronology of the day and the scope of the event. Pictures could have been better but they should give people who weren't there an idea of what a Red X Event looks like.

TimC and I got there a little early...

Okay so let's get a poll going on Boondocks, Goose Creek, Queens etc...

Scott - how many folks signed up for the fishin' contest? I'm wondering about how many Xers and friends were there. I'm thinking 45+.

Just would like to be clear, I didn't offer Boondocks up again to setup a competition :) with cFarm's idea,,, just don't want us to forget about the place.... If a poll is warranted, that's fine, or a trip up to Washington is fine too... Just let's keep Boondocks in our future options... Great family place, and you can sit and cool your pallet with about anything cold too....

sounds good, I'll make a poll with 3 options:

1. Boondocks
2. Goose Creek
3. Queens Creek/Bear Island

is there any camping for queens creek on the mainland?
