Guys - we are still nailing down the details but someone will be at your event collecting equipment for "Rods for Reel Change". As you know this equipment will be donated to groups taking kids fishing, so your help is appreciated. It is likely that I will be able to attend myself (just have one item to clear off my schedule) but if not IM has agreed to be point man at this event for us and will take the stuff to Vic.

So if you are so inclined, go through your stuff and see what you might be able to spare. We are not looking for junkers here - pretend you are giving it to your son or nephew or grandson - that's what we are looking for.

Reel maintainence, boat safety, general basic outboard repair/troubleshooting, kayak rigging, sounds like a good nighttime dinner event in the heat of summer doesnt it!!

Ok fellow Red-X-Anglers, this is a great opportunity to help out a kid that might not otherwise be able to own a rod and reel, or get to experience the joy of fishing. Please think about donating a rod and reel to this great cause, ( Rod for Reel change ) and bring it with you to the m&g.

I am going to need volunteers to help clean up the fellowship hall when the event is over. Any and all help will be appreciated....

I'll help and I want to remind everyone to bring something they can carry a few leftovers home in (if there are any at this rate!!)

I checked the leave calendar at work and this day showed to be open so I put in for a day of leave for this date and only time will tell if it gets approved. So hopefully now I will be able to attend. So I will look and see what type of dish I can whip up and bring in the event I get to come. I see someone already has maccaroni salad, and i was thinking of pasta salad, would that be too much of a similar thing?

sounds good Handy but if all else fails grab a bag or 2 of chips and some kind of dip, always some nibbling going on at these things.

Got it covered Mike but hope you will be there.

I went down to Minnesott Beach Bait n Tackle today. Capt Dave (Pamlico Tackle on this site) had offered to donate some prizes for the meet n greet as well as some stuff for Rods for Reel Change. I was BLOWN away!!! by his generosity!!! he has donated a huge bag full of awesome looking Corky crankbaits and a nice Kenan/Okuma combo that is just screming trout or bass!!
That donation was just for us REDXers then he hands me 12, that's right one dozen! brand new Zebco 202 combos for "Rods for Reel change"!! I want to be sure we all recognize his generosity!! He has been invited but his schedule wont allow it this time so hopefully he can join us soon at a meet n greet!!
While I was there I also checked out the new line of TFO rods he is carrying (very nice stuff) and the new Penn Battle reels also in stock. You wont beat his pricing and he will ship so guys give him a call before you buy anywhere else!! He also has started carrying a new line of braid, called FINS, I checked out a spool and it really looks like a high quality product!! he also has Diawa Excelsor and Shimano reels and can probably get most anything you want!
Thanks again to Capt Dave for his awesome donations!!!
