Also just a reminder that we will be collecting rod & reels for the Rods For Reel Change program. So if you have any you wish to donate get up with me or Randy this Saturday at the meet & greet.

I have had a couple of people ask if they could donate money. What we would prefer is gift cards to one of the on-line tackle shops or to East Coast Sports. We will use them to purchase terminal gear and accessories or child sized rod/reel combos.

Update: It looks like we are going to have a ( swap/sale corner ) set up at the m&g. Brannok812 will be in charge of the table.
If you have any surplus fishing equipment laying around that you never use, you are welcome to bring it with you. Someone may have something that you do need, and be willing to trade with you.
Please don't post any items on this thread that you plan on bringing with you. However, I do need for you to send a list of your swap/sale items to me or Islandman by e-mail or pm.
Be aware that.
#1 Rivermont Pres Church, The Red-X-Anglers, and NCANGLER are not responsible for any property loss, damage, or personal injury.
#2 Honest and integrity are expected in all dealings.
#3 All property for trade/sale should be marked with the original owners name ( adhesive label, paper tag with string attachment, etc ). When it is traded or sold, the new owners name will be added to the item.

Guys - we are still nailing down the details but someone will be at your event collecting equipment for "Rods for Reel Change". As you know this equipment will be donated to groups taking kids fishing, so your help is appreciated. It is likely that I will be able to attend myself (just have one item to clear off my schedule) but if not IM has agreed to be point man at this event for us and will take the stuff to Vic.

So if you are so inclined, go through your stuff and see what you might be able to spare. We are not looking for junkers here - pretend you are giving it to your son or nephew or grandson - that's what we are looking for.

Don't forget the ( Rods for Reel Change ) !

Keep in mind we all probably have tackle that we dont use , have grown beyond, or just dont like. Bag it up and bring it down!! Someone can use it, buy it, trade for it, etc.... I have alot of panfish stuff, basic cheap crankbaits etc that I have accumulated over the years. I'm going to see if anyone can use it, trade it, donate it etc but its getting out of my way!!

BigE, I'm not sure what time Alan " Tarheel Fly Flinger " will get there, but I'm sure he will get there early. Hopefully I will be there at least by 9:00 am.

I will be driving up from Wilmington and would like to get some shad fishing in Sat morning before the M&G starts. I've never fished for shad and do not know the area, so if anyone could point me to a public place that I could cast that would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone from around Wilmington wants to carpool and don't mind leaving early, let me know.

Bank fishing by the HWY 70 Wildlife Ramp is one of the best locations. Can be crowded on weekends. Scott Hobbs is one of the best to get info on Shad !!

bscantrell; That is a yes ! If you bring a new fishing lure for the door prize box you will get an extra door prize ticket.
