I for one want the Blue, Channel and Flathead made sportfish and protected. Bowfin and Gar are trashfish. They consume almost anything, and destroy nesting areas..

hmmmm sundrop flatheads eat every thing in site and do the same thing bowfin and gar do so i guess if they are trash fish so is a flathead
blue channels do it too but not as bad as a flathead,here in p.a there in an upraoar over the flatheads in our rivers stateing the same thing your saying about bowfin and gar

the thing with flatheads is they pretty well only eat live things. they will eat other stuff but for the most part they prefer their meals to still be alive. blues like fresh but not necissarily live, and channels would eat an old sock. they will eat any and everything and the stinkier the better. I am all for making catfish as gamefish.

thats my point too tony they eat row right out of the nest the same as any other preditor will do just ask the bass men who hate catfish cause they destroy or claim they destroy bass eggs

thats a good pic and definetly not an easy task on a rubber worm if it was easy you could fill buckets with a rubber worm those fish are far and few between

I was wading in the most gnarly mess of fallen timber and brush you'd ever seen trying to catch the monster bass I was sure lived in there. You know, the kind of place that's so thick nobody else is crazy enough to even try. That's an 8 inch worm. Thought I had a nice bass until I felt this guy start rolling like they do.

I've heard some giuys say a few years ago that they caught a cat on a spinner bait. Not sure which catfish it was. Could have been one like John just showed.

catfish will take any thing when hungry spinners, flys, spoons and so forth there an opertunist when feeding thats why they are called garbage cans and get bigger than one ( garbage can )

I say you guys but there is only 1 person that truly seems worried, and he knows who he is It's really ok though, I can play the game with reds and stripers too. In fact I have an area right there close to the ramp that is normally good for at least 1 24 inch red that time of year, and don't forget my home creek is only a 25 minute ride...

That sound like a good strategic move to me Chris that could work to our advantage. Keep our eye on trigger, watch what type of bait he's using as he catches the smaller fish we'll move in with a couple of magic lures and take the big ones.LOL

And I know as a true RedXer that you would let a couple of fellow RedXer's maybe tie up beside you and share part of the RED X that you have reserved as a sure spot to catch some fish.
