Anyone have any experience with this rod? Looking into the medium-heavy extra fast action tip. Heard it was a very durable and sensitive medium rod for flounder, sheepshead.

Tackle Direct online has the new Battle II for preorder. Available Sept 1st. The 2500 is $99.95. The 3000 is $109.95. Only noticeable difference is less bearings and less line capacity.

Another reason to shop local.
Arlen from Tex's Tackle just replaced one of my Teramar rods that just developed a loose reel seat & cork grip.
No problems, no questions, no haggling.
Took the old one & replaced it with a new rod.
That's customer service at it's highest level. .... ICM

For grouper look at the shimano blue water series.. i was looking at the medium 15-30# myself for cobia and kings off the yak. The teramar is also in the top list for inshore.

That's what Tex did for me in the early 90's with a Team Daiwa surf rod when his shop was across the street. First time I had stepped foot in the store. He won me over since then. Shouldn't have mentioned tackle direct but wanted someone to see the battle II is on the way despite what the penn website says. Dang I'm getting old.

Yes, my Teramar 7'6" or 8' is what I used for surf Reds.
